History:
Kyle has shown himself to be a brilliant astrogator, at least insofar as his simulator and test sessions are concerned. As with all of the astrogator trainees, how reacts to the stresses of real situations can't be evaluated in training. He is the youngest Chief Astrogator in the program, with the next oldest being fourteen. It is this brilliance that earned Kyle his senior officer position on the SooLoo.

Kyle works hard in leadership training. His age and resulting inexperience in life sometimes hold him back, but he seems intent on being the best possible officer. Unfortunately, he also is having a difficult time dealing with his own personal issues. He tends to be a loner, and is can be sullen and borderline insubordinate at times. His experience playing basketball, baseball, and soccer on the Prep School teams has served him well in learning how to lead, but that positive is often not enough.

His low grades in the basic classes of English and History indicate an unwillingness to commit himself to subject and tasks that don't interest him. He needs to improve his attitude in these areas to maintain his position.

Kyle's amazing improvement as an officer and as a person, coupled with his ambition to become a starship captain, have led to his being named the Captain of the SS Robert A. Heinlein. He as proven is leadership abilities many times and was twice awarded the Distinguished Service Star for leadership and bravery.
